We’re excited to announce the rollout of over 1000 new electric vehicle charging points in Sweden by Qwello, making EV access more convenient. More locations to follow soon.

We are thrilled to announce that Qwello has successfully rolled out over 1,000 new electric vehicle (EV) charging points across Sweden, now operational in eight cities including Kalmar, Stockholm, Sundbyberg, and Eksjö. This expansion is part of our ongoing efforts to meet the growing demand for public EV charging.

Sweden’s public charging infrastructure market is still developing, with demand outpacing the available network of charging points. The primary challenge lies in the uncertainty faced by municipalities on how to approach and support this emerging sector. Many municipalities are struggling with questions around granting public land for charging stations and have not received sufficient guidance from the national government to streamline the process. The lack of clear, high-level policies has resulted in longer processing times for municipalities to establish strategies for public charging infrastructure.

At Qwello, we understand these challenges and are proud to offer our support. We actively assist municipalities with valuable insights and information, a service that has been widely appreciated. Our expertise has helped to bridge gaps in understanding and accelerate decision-making, ensuring smoother implementation of public charging solutions.

One of the key drivers of Qwello’s success has been our unwavering focus on customer experience. Common issues in the EV charging market—such as difficulty starting a charging session, unclear payment methods, and lack of real-time information—have posed barriers to wider user adoption. Qwello’s innovative approach addresses these problems, offering a seamless, user-friendly charging experience. With our easy-to-use Qwello app, drivers can access real-time station availability, convenient payment options, and an overall hassle-free charging process.

Looking ahead, Qwello will continue to extend its network, with four additional cities—Gävle, Älmhult, Katrineholm, and Nybro—joining in Q4. As we strengthen our partnerships with municipalities, our rollout plans for Q1 and Q2 of next year look exceptionally promising.
