New Horizons
Qwello France installed its first four public charging stations in Ille-et-Vilaine, in Cesson-Sévigné, Rennes Métropole this October. This event marks the official launch of the departmental programme entrusted to Qwello France and Driveco following the call for expressions of interest carried out by the SDE 35 energy syndicate. This deployment represents the starting point of amajor project: 54 stations, i.e. 143 Qwello charging points to be installed in two years to support the transition to electric mobility in the department.
Qwello France is very proud to inaugurate its first charging stations in the department in Cesson-Sévigné, a concrete step that illustrates the company’s commitment to the development of accessible and reliable electric mobility infrastructure. With four charging points, this pilot station is now fully
operational and open to the public, offering an intuitive and smooth user experience thanks to its mobile app and real-time availability of the stations.
The inauguration of Cesson-Sévigné is accompanied by the commissioning of a second station in Dol-de-Bretagne, also equipped with four charging points, on 25 November. These first installations are the beginning of an ambitious programme that provides for 54 stations spread over 36 municipalities in Ille-et-Vilaine over the next two years. The deployment schedule has been designed to offer progressive and consistent coverage of the territory, linking urban and rural areas and thus facilitating the daily life of electric vehicle drivers throughout the department.
This programme is part of an innovative approach led by the SDE35, which has brought together the volunteer municipalities within a public interest grouping, promoting optimal coordination of establishments and guaranteeing a harmonious network of infrastructures. The inauguration in Cesson-Sévigné illustrates not only the realization of a strategic project for the territory, but also the positive impact of a public-private partnership between Qwello France and local authorities, actively contributing to the energy transition and the development of sustainable mobility.
Vincent Briola, Managing Director of Qwello France:
“We are very proud to have been chosen to participate in the development of electric mobility in Ille et Vilaine. A distribution of user-friendly, high-quality public charging stations throughout the country is accelerating the adoption of clean vehicles. This Qwello station in the department is the first of a long series of commissioning in the coming weeks and months. A big thank you to the SDE35, Rennes Métropole and Cesson Sévigné for their trust.”
Qwello charging stations communicate their availability status in real time and offer an intuitive app for a smooth user journey, ensuring a pleasant experience for EV drivers. The expansion of Qwello’s network of charging stations is a key part of France’s strategy to achieve carbon neutrality by 2050. By improving access to electric vehicle charging, Qwello strengthens the country’s electric mobility infrastructure and actively supports the transition to greener transport solutions.
