Drivers of electric vehicles are set to benefit from more charging points being installed around Essex.
Sixty-six new stations will be installed across 30 locations, including in Chelmsford, Colchester, Maldon, Braintree and Harlow.
Charge point operator Qwello UK has partnered up with Essex County Council to put in the points.
The sites are anticipated to go live from the spring.
Drivers will be able to access on-street charging points and charging stations at public car parks.
They have been partly paid for through a £236,000 grant from the Department for Transport, with the overall project costing about £400,000, including funding from Qwello.
Tom Cunningham, cabinet member for highways, infrastructure and sustainable transport at the county council, said: “We understand that not all journeys are possible by public transport, walking or cycling and so we’re working with the market to reduce the emissions of essential car journeys.”
