The start-up Qwello wants to set up charging stations for electric cars at 1,000 locations in Frankfurt. However, this is not so easy in practice.
(…)Actually, the startup had planned to introduce the charging stations back in October 2021, as Qwello founder Henrik Thiele announced in the summer of 2021. At the time, the company had already applied for 680 locations within the city, each with three charging stations. This would have tripled Frankfurt’s charging infrastructure for electric car owners in one go.
But things don’t happen that quickly in Frankfurt. “We had to go through a learning process”, says Head of Sales Kinne. Founder Thiele speaks of ‘considerable resistance from all possible quarters’ that had to be overcome. And looks in the direction of the city representatives.(…)
