Copenhagen, Denmark

German charging provider Qwello has announced its expansion into Denmark after the company secured two contracts as part of a public tender by the City of Copenhagen in 2025.

The contracts grant Qwello the right to install and operate up to 140 public AC charging stations across several districts of the Danish capital. One contract covers Stefansgade, Nørrebroparken, Lundtoftegade and Vesterbro Vest, while the second includes Bispebjerg, Gl. Sydhavn, Rosenvænget, and Svanemøllen Syd and Øst. “The contracts mark a key milestone in Qwello’s Northern European expansion and reinforce its role as a trusted partner for cities advancing sustainable mobility,” the Danish subsidiary of the German company states.

“Entering Denmark and being selected by the City of Copenhagen is an important milestone for Qwello. Copenhagen sets some of the highest standards in Europe for sustainable urban mobility, and this project reflects our ability to meet those expectations — from operating on 100% green electricity to using low-emission equipment and service vehicles, and delivering a fast, reliable rollout at street level,” says Nils Gaedt, Managing Director of Qwello Denmark. “We are proud to support the city with charging infrastructure designed for everyday urban use and to strengthen our long-term commitment to the Nordic region.”
