European growth and strategic acquisitions

New equity investment of up to EUR 55 million supports the continued expansion of Qwello’s pan-European electric vehicle (“EV”) charging network through both organic growth and selective acquisitions.

Munich / Amsterdam, 26th October 2026
Qwello, a fast-growing European provider of public EV charging infrastructure, has secured a growth equity investment of up to EUR 55 million from ABN AMRO Sustainable Impact Fund (“ABN AMRO SIF”) and existing shareholders, including Tiger Infrastructure Partners (“Tiger Infrastructure”), which has supported Qwello’s impressive growth since 2021. The investment will support the continued expansion of Qwello’s public charging network across European cities, alongside selective acquisitions that complement its existing business.

ABN AMRO SIF provides growth capital to companies driving the energy transition and decarbonisation, and Qwello is a strong example: its charging network runs on 100% renewable energy and avoided more than 28,000 tonnes of CO₂ last year alone.

The new equity investment further strengthens Qwello’s financial foundation as it scales its privately financed charging infrastructure in close partnership with municipalities. Qwello currently operates more than 19,500 charge points across more than 800 municipalities in Denmark, France, Germany, the Netherlands, Poland, Sweden, Spain, and the United Kingdom, and the company plans to significantly expand its footprint over the next decade. Qwello’s focus remains on densely populated urban and residential areas, where convenient and reliable public charging is essential to the transition to electric mobility.

In addition to organic network growth, Qwello pursues a disciplined and selective M&A strategy, targeting businesses that fit its operating model and can be integrated successfully into the wider group. Building on its successful track record of acquiring and integrating charging infrastructure businesses, Qwello continues to pursue opportunities that complement its existing operations and recently acquired a majority stake in Groen-Eco, establishing a strategic partnership that expands its position in B2B and destination charging with more than 1,400 charge points across 230 sites in the Netherlands.

Dr. Henrik Thiele, Chief Executive Officer of Qwello, said:

“This investment marks another important step in Qwello’s European growth journey and reflects the confidence of our long-standing financial partners in our business model and operational performance. Since establishing our relationship with Tiger Infrastructure in 2021 and ABN AMRO Bank in 2024, we have expanded our network, demonstrated strong utilisation across our portfolio and successfully integrated acquired businesses. We have always approached acquisitions selectively, with a clear focus on making each integration a lasting operational and commercial success. With additional capital, we are even better positioned to pursue attractive acquisition opportunities, integrate acquired businesses successfully and accelerate the growth of our network to make reliable public charging more accessible across European cities.”

Qwello’s approach to inorganic growth combines disciplined acquisition selection with hands-on integration. Following the 2024 integration of Dutch charging operator Park & Charge, the business secured the Province of North Holland’s MRA-E tender to install up to 1,000 charge points in municipal parking garages and was fully integrated into the group as Qwello Netherlands in 2026. These developments illustrate Qwello’s focus not simply on acquiring networks, but on building stronger businesses through successful integration and further operational development. Qwello has also completed asset acquisitions in Poland and Sweden, further expanding its presence in both markets, as well as the aforementioned acquisition of Groen-Eco in the Netherlands.

Gaetano Giuffré, Senior Investment Manager at ABN AMRO Sustainable Impact Fund, added:

“Qwello has demonstrated the operational and commercial discipline we look for in infrastructure businesses. Its ability to expand a scalable public charging network while selecting and successfully integrating acquisitions is particularly compelling. Our investment of up to EUR 25 million alongside a similar amount from Tiger Infrastructure and other shareholders reflects our confidence in Qwello’s model, its execution capabilities and its opportunity to grow across eight European markets. Through its privately financed infrastructure model and close partnerships with municipalities, Qwello is helping develop the charging capacity needed for Europe’s transition to electric mobility.”
