Qwello Launches First Charging Station in Paris Near Iconic Montmartre Basilica

Qwello Paris

Paris, France

June 4, 2025

We are delighted to announce the launch of our charging station close to the iconic Montmartre Basilica in Paris. This opening not only marks a milestone due to its prime location but also represents a major step in Qwello’s expansion in France: it is both Qwello’s first station in Paris and the first underground station for Qwello France.

Located in a car park managed by Le Club Parking and owned by Degueldre-Gestion, this underground station features four Qwello charge points, offering a modern, efficient, and accessible charging experience for both Paris residents and tourists driving electric vehicles. The station strengthens sustainable mobility infrastructure in one of the city’s most visited and historic neighbourhoods.

The commercial development of the project was led by Qwello France, in direct coordination with the car park operator, Le Club Parking. This joint effort enabled the successful implementation of a robust technical infrastructure within the complex urban setting of an underground car park.

The project followed a well-structured and efficient timeline. After the grid connection was completed, construction works began on 17 March 2025. Remarkably, within just one week, by 24 March, the installation works were fully completed. Following all required technical and safety inspections and energy supply,  the station went live on 30 May 2025.

Local impact and national vision

This new charging station marks tangible progress in enhancing Paris’s electric mobility infrastructure, making charging more accessible for the thousands of visitors and locals who pass through Montmartre daily. Beyond improving user convenience, the project contributes directly to the city’s environmental goals, promoting cleaner, more sustainable transport.

Yet this is just the beginning. Qwello has a clear vision for growth across France and Europe, aiming to roll out a network of high-quality, reliable charging stations in major cities throughout Europe. This first installation in Paris lays the groundwork for future developments, reaffirming Qwello’s commitment to sustainability, technological innovation, and improving urban life.

A strong collaboration for a landmark project

This project has been brought to life through close cooperation between key industry stakeholders. The Paris Prefecture granted construction authorisation, ENEDIS handled the grid connection, and ENSIO carried out the construction and ongoing maintenance. Bureau Veritas and BTP CONSULTANT were responsible for the electrical and safety inspections respectively, while ENGIE ensured the supply of green electricity, officially approved by CONSUEL.
