The Qwello CP Series – Next Generation has been awarded a Red Dot in the Red Dot Award: Product Design 2026, one of the most internationally recognised design competitions in the world. Developed together with design partner FLUID, the recognition marks another important milestone for Qwello’s latest generation of urban charging infrastructure.
The international Red Dot Jury honoured the Qwello CP Series with a “Red Dot” – awarded exclusively to products that feature an outstanding design. In a strong field of participants with numerous entries from companies and design studios around the world, the CP Series – Next Generation convinced the jury with its outstanding design and quality.
This recognition adds to another major design achievement this year: the Qwello CP21 and CP22 Charging Stations were also awarded the iF DESIGN AWARD 2026 in the Product Design discipline, Automotive category. Together, both awards underline Qwello’s commitment to creating public charging infrastructure that is not only reliable and scalable, but also intuitive, durable and thoughtfully designed.
Built for the modern city
The Qwello CP Series – Next Generation has been developed to set a new standard for user experience, brand presence and durability in public charging environments. Built for modern urban infrastructure across Germany and Europe, the charging station family brings together a coherent design language with robust, field-ready engineering.
The CP21 and CP22 share a distinctive visual identity – defined by a triangular pole, illuminated touchpoints and clearly structured interaction areas that guide users naturally through the charging process. Their compact footprint supports a range of urban use cases, from high-traffic deployments to tighter public spaces.
Designed for everyday public use, the series combines weather protection, vandalism resistance and straightforward field maintenance with seamless integration into Qwello’s digital app experience. The result is a charging station family that makes public charging smarter, easier and more accessible – and one that has now earned recognition from two of the world’s most respected independent design juries.

Double recognition for Qwello’s Charge Point Series
The Red Dot recognition follows Qwello’s recent success at the iF DESIGN AWARD 2026, where the Qwello CP21 and CP22 Charging Stations were awarded in the Product Design discipline, Automotive category. The iF jury recognised the stations for their intuitive use, durability and minimal footprint, as well as advanced features including contactless payment, real-time status indication and ergonomic interaction zones – and for an iconic, minimalist design that blends into urban environments while enhancing visibility and brand identity.
Together, the Red Dot and iF distinctions confirm that Qwello’s CP Series is not only technically advanced – it has earned recognition from two of the most rigorous and independent design competitions in the world. For Qwello, design is not an afterthought: it is central to creating public infrastructure that works reliably in the city, feels simple for users and becomes a recognisable part of the urban environment.

About the Red Dot Design Award
The Red Dot Design Award is one of the most internationally renowned competitions in the field of design. To ensure a differentiated evaluation of the wide range of design achievements, the competition is divided into three disciplines:
- Red Dot Award: Product Design
- Red Dot Award: Brands & Communication Design
- Red Dot Award: Design Concept
The competition looks back on a history spanning more than 70 years: as early as 1955, a jury first convened to assess the best designs of its time. In the 1990s, Professor Dr Peter Zec, initiator and CEO, developed the name and brand of the award.
Today, the “Red Dot” distinction is recognised worldwide as a mark of high design quality. The award-winning works are presented in yearbooks, in exhibitions in the Red Dot Design Museums and online.
