UK, France & Poland have been launched last month as further markets of the successful charging network operator Qwello – with an expanded product range, amongst other things.
QWELLO GmbH today presented in Munich its new locations in additional European markets. After the already successful, area-wide development of charging infrastructure in Stockholm (Sweden), which already means market leadership for QWELLO there, as well as the continuously progressing development in Germany in metropolises such as Frankfurt, Essen, Berlin and other German metropolitan regions, this is a further step in European expansion.
Already in the first half of this year the company expanded to the Iberian Peninsula, together with Acciona Energía as a joint venture partner, with the first charging points in the suburban areas of Madrid.
From August 2023, further QWELLO charging points will be available for users of battery electric vehicles in Great Britain, France and Poland.
In particular, the construction of QWELLO charging infrastructure within the “Square Mile”, the very heart of the City of London, moves the Managing Director Qwello UK, Martin Hale:
“We are very proud to have been selected to upgrade the charging points at these prestigious locations with the same solutions being enjoyed by other European cities such as Stockholm, Berlin, Frankfurt and Madrid. This builds on our other recent contract success where we’ve won on our core principles such as putting the driver first, high operational uptime, preventing nuisance parking, meeting accessibility standards and adding local social value.”
In London, as already in Berlin, an additionally developed charging pole product is used, which compresses the advantages of the classic QWELLO charging pole into a smaller size.
At the same time as the market entry in the UK, the commissioning of QWELLO charging infrastructure took place in Poland in the Katowice region as well as on the French Mediterranean coast near Marseille.
Qwello founder Dr Henrik Thiele: “Qwello’s vision has always been to provide a turnkey charging infrastructure solution for the whole of Europe, enabling cities and municipalities of all sizes to simplify their citizens’ entry into electric mobility – with the aim of supporting the achievement of our common, ambitious, but also urgently needed climate goals through private investment. We are therefore very pleased to be able to contribute to this goal in the UK, France and Poland.”
